Herman Noble, Jr. Obituary

Herman Noble, Jr. was born December 23, 1944, in St. Matthews, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late Herman Noble Sr. and Elizabeth Sutter Noble.  Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend departed this earthly life on Friday, February 20, 2026, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

“HJ”, as he was affectionately called was educated in the public schools of Richland County School District One where he graduated from C. A. Johnson High School.  Herman retired from Active Transportation after thirty (30) plus years as a truck driver.

Herman enjoyed going to the casinos, taking family vacations, and shopping. Herman was full of wisdom that he shared with his family and others. He was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles and LA Lakers Fan.

“HJ” will be remembered for his kind heart, strength, and dedication to his family. Though he is no longer physically with us, he will be remembered for all those lives he so lovingly touched.

In addition to his parents, Herman was also preceded in death by his sister, Emily Rickenbacker; and brothers, Larry Noble and Eddie Noble.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Laben Noble of the home; daughters, Jayla Noble and LaKristopher McCoy both of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Jalani Brown, Breyah Brown, and Alayna Scott; niece, Bridget S. Noble; nephews, Darius Rickenbacker and Eddie Brandon Noble; a host of great nephews and nieces; mother-law, Joann McCoy; brothers and sisters-in-law, along with a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
