Henry Lewis Stroman was born October 18, 1959, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the beloved son of the late John Henry and Flora Lee Stroman. Henry departed this earthly life on Thursday, September 29, 2022, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Henry was educated in the public schools of Richland County. At an early age Henry entered the workforce as a construction worker.
Henry served as a father figure for several of his nephews and nieces, even though he had no biological children of his own. Henry enjoyed dancing, telling jokes, and listening to music.
Henry was known by family and friends as “Skeeter.” He was a passionate spades player, and you would often find him talking smack and telling jokes at the card table with his family. Henry also loved to play chess and checkers. He was always the life of the party and was loved dearly by all who loved and knew him.
Henry was also preceded in death by five brothers, Leon Bailey, Benjamin Bailey, Leo Bailey, Leroy Bailey and John Henry Stroman; and a sister Lizzie Geiger.
Henry leaves to cherish his fond and precious memories three loving sisters, Carolina (Eddie) Gilliam, Carol Gamble, and Linda Isaac; and one brother, Darren Layseth; and a host of nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
