Brother Henry Lewis Boyce was born April 7, 1952, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late Henry Boyce, Jr. and Saint Elizabeth Perry Boyce. He departed this life on Friday, October 31, 2025, at PRISMA Health Richland Hospital, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Henry “Tida”, as he was affectionately called, was educated in the public schools of Richland School District One, where he attended Carver Elementary, W. A. Perry Middle, and graduated from C. A. Johnson High School. After graduation he entered the United States Army where he served for three years and received an Honorable Discharge. He was married to the former Rosalyn White with whom he shared a life of love and the birth of two children before she went home to be with the Lord.
Henry was employed with Owen’s Steel Corporation for many years and then by Benedict College where he worked in Janitorial Service retiring after many years of dedicated service.
Brother Boyce was a dedicated member of the United House of Prayer for All People under the leadership of the late Bishop Walter McCollough. During his tenure, he served as a member of the “Kings of the South Band” where he played the Tuba. He was also a beautiful piano player like his brother where he played for the South Carolina State Choir, and the Low District Choir. He enjoyed spreading the love of Jesus through music.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by his son, Antwane (2024); brothers, Albert, and Johnny Boyce; sisters, Eartha Mae Boyce, Diana Black, and Sharon Mack.
Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories are his loving daughter, Pastor Keesha Boyce (Anthony) Geiger of Columbia, SC; seven (7) grandchildren; his loving sister, Linda Boyce of Columbia, SC; his future daughter and niece, Kenyatta Boyce of Columbia, SC; a host of nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and dear friends.
