Henry “Tida”, as he was affectionately called, was educated in the public schools of Richland School District One, where he attended Carver Elementary, W. A. Perry Middle, and graduated from C. A. Brother Boyce was a dedicated member of the United House of Prayer for All People under the leadership of the late Bishop Walter McCollough. During his tenure, he served as a member of the “Kings of the South Band” where he played the Tuba. He was also a beautiful piano player like his brother where he played for the South Carolina State Choir, and the Low District Choir. He enjoyed spreading the love of Jesus through music.
