Bro. Harry Eli Kirven entered into this life on April 21, 1956 and he peacefully departed this life to be with his Lord on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Bro. Kirven was the oldest child of the late Baxter Kirven and Louise Kirven Gantt.
Bro. Harry attended public schools of Richland County, and was Alumni of C.A. Johnson High School where he was a proud member of the football team. After graduation, he was employed by Westinghouse as a Quality Control Analyst. Later, he started his truck driving career with Hanks Trucking Company of West Columbia. He founded Kirven's Kids Enterprises and operated the "truck driving" business for over 20 years.
At an early age, Bro. Kirven accepted Christ as his personal Savior and he joined Second Nazareth Baptist Church. He was committed to "service" and served faithfully as a member of the Security Ministry. He loved the Lord and was a great supporter of the Second Nazareth Baptist Church working faithfully until his health declined.
He loved to "barbeque" on the grill and often brought his grill to assist with cooking for various events at the Second Nazareth. He was a quiet, polite person, and loved and lived to help everyone.
Bro. Harry Kirven is preceded in death by his parents Baxter M. Kirven and Louise Kirven Gantt., Brother Reginald D. Kirven., Grandmother Julia M. Simon., and Aunt Eloise P. Ford.
Those left to cherish fond and precious memories of Bro. Harry are his loving son; Michael D. (Chanelle) Kirven, of Columbia, South Carolina; a daughter Ashley L. Kirven, of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Da’veed, Mickele, and Michael.; a brother, Baxter Kirven, Jr.; a Sister Patricia Kirven all of Darlington, SC; Cousins Jackie Ford; Juan Ford; Moenika Ford; Reverend Andrew Sansbury; and God sister Bridgett Hawkins; all of Columbia, South Carolina; and God children Tameka Ryans Lawson and Thomas Ryans II all of Columbia, South Carolina; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join with the family in sharing the grief caused by his departure.
