Gregory P. Boyd

Gregory Prince Boyd was born March 15, 1962, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late Samuel and Daisy Mae Hodge James; and his adoptive parents, the late Willie and Lillie Mae Taylor Boyd. He departed this life on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina.

Gregory was educated in the public schools of Richland School District, where he graduated from Lower Richland High School in the Class of 1981. At an early age Greg had a passion for cooking, which led to a career in Culinary Arts. He was employed and well known at the Clarion Hotel and Ft. Jackson Dining Services.

Greg was a kind and giving person. He was funny and always willing to help others.

Greg leaves to cherish his loving memories his caring son, Gregory Gaulman-Henry;  and his loving daughter, Ashley Sherria Boyd; and five precious  grandchildren;  his loving sister, Valarie J. Gibson; two caring brothers, Sam (Margaret) Boyd and Lathan James; a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
