Glinder Delores Goines, affectionately known as “Lois” to all who love her, was born on July 23, 1944 in Columbia, South Carolina to David “DW” Goines and Sarah Gadsden Goines. Lois completed her earthly assignment and God called her home to receive her heavenly wings on November 22, 2020.
Lois was educated in the Richland County public school system. She graduated from C.A Johnson High School, class of 1962. Lois was employed with State Park Health Center and South Carolina Department of Mental Health. She retired after thirty years of committed service.
Lois was a selfless woman, who gave her whole life to her family. After the untimely death of her parents, Lois kept her promise to her mother and took on the role of sole provider to her younger siblings. This act of obedience, love and faith earned Lois the well-deserved title of Goines Family Matriarch.
As a devout Christian, Lois was an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in College Place for over seventy years. Her favorite bible verse was Psalm 37:25. As a model citizen, Lois was respectfully known as a pillar of the College Place, Fairwold Acres, and Harlem Heights communities.
Lois was preceded in death by her daughter, Tanya, her siblings, Virginia Walker, Larry Goines, Phillip Goines, Diane Cornelius, and David Goines, Jr.
Those left to celebrate Lois’ life are: her daughter Tyra (Tiger), Grandchildren, Sade’, Charese, Dajanya, and Demetrius, Great Grandchildren Jeremiah, Nicholas, Elijah and Kaiden, sisters, Carolyn Seaton, Linda Wood, and Alice Goines, many loving cousins, a host of other relatives and very close friends, all who will mourn her earthly death, but will forever rejoice that she is resting with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
