Glenice Colette McClinton, was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1961, in Columbia, South Carolina, the cherished daughter of the late Herman Lee McClinton and Jamsie Lee Lewis McClinton. Glenice peacefully transitioned on Friday, March 20, 2026.
She was educated in the public schools of Columbia, South Carolina, and proudly graduated from Eau Claire High School.
Glenice was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother/great grandmother, sister, auntie and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ernestine Laverne Gause, Brenda Pearson, Ginger Jamison, and Eanion McClinton; brother, Robert Lewis; and her beloved grandson, Tyrese Malik Johnson.
Glenice leaves to cherish her memory her devoted spouse, Robert McClinton-Gochett; her loving daughters, Tara Yolanda McClinton and Zara Levett McClinton; grandson, Henry Antonio (Kenasha) Jones Jr.; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Nigel, A’mari, Janiyla, Tamia, and Henry Antonio Jones III. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Hattie Branch, Vanessa Brister, and Henrietta McClinton-Sanford; caring brothers, Patrick McClinton, Clyde McClinton, Herman Lee McClinton Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland, and Timothy McClinton of Baltimore, Maryland; her special niece, Dr. Malshundria Prophet-Hunter; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Glenice will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the love she shared so freely with her family and community.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
