Gerald Bernard Platts

Mr. Gerald Bernard Platts was born on June 29, 1962 in Patterson, New Jersey to Elease Hough Platts and the late Joe Lewis Platts. He departed this life on Saturday, December 1, 2018.

Gerald was educated in the public schools of Passaic County, New Jersey, and Richland County, South Carolina. He graduated from Kennan High School in Columbia, SC later attending Midlands Tech in Columbia, SC and Wilmington College in New Castle, Delaware. 

Gerald was a gifted and talented artist and welder. He had a great sense of humor and loved joking around and spending time with family and friends.

Left to celebrate Gerald’s life and cherish his memories are his mother, Elease Platts; children, Amra Morris (Arolando), Gerald Lewis (Latonya), Chaqui Manigault (Angelo), Chavauna Platts, and Crystal Grandison (Raymond); his children in love, Rishadd Manigault, Jasmine Stallings, and Desmond Stallings; six grandchildren,  a brother, Joseph Platts; two sisters, Robin Platts, and LaShaunda Platts (Jamaal); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives whom will miss him dearly.
