Mother Georgetta Kennedy Wicker was born June 25, 1951, the beloved daughter of George Thomas Kennedy and Mamie Lee McCants Kennedy in Winnsboro, South Carolina. Georgetta departed this life on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
Georgetta was educated in the public schools of Fairfield County. After completing school, she worked in the textile industry as a skilled seamstress at Charm Corporation. Prior to retiring, she ended her career as a healthcare giver for Willow Springs Nursing Facility of Ridgeway, South Carolina.
Georgetta was a faithful member of The Impact Church of The Midlands in Winnsboro, South Carolina, where she was delegated as a Mother of the Church. Her dedication for service to God has left a legacy and a lasting impression that the members will never forget. In her leisure time, she enjoyed crocheting, of which many of her pieces will be cherished by her loved ones as keepsakes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Thomas and Mamie Lee Kennedy; eldest son, Brian George Kennedy; brothers, Johnny Kennedy and Anthony Kennedy; and sister, Angela Harrison.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Crawford Kennedy of Columbia, SC, and Quincy (Sherri) Wicker of Winnsboro, SC; and her daughter, Malisa (Rodrick) Gaither of St. Johns, FL; seventeen (17) loving grandchildren; sixteen (16) loving great-grandchildren; one brother, Steven Kennedy of Winnsboro, SC; three sisters, Blondell Bell, Shirley Kennedy, and Merita Evans, all of Winnsboro, SC; two aunts, Dorothy McCants of Winnsboro, SC and Gecora (John) Crumblin, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, whom she cherished; three uncles, Louis Kennedy of Winnsboro, SC, whom she had a special relationship with, Eleazer Boyd of Columbia, SC, and Fred Boyd of Winnsboro, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and dear friends, as well as her church family all of whom will dearly miss her.
