Geneva Wilson, affectionately known as "Boot" to her family and loved ones, was born on November 12, 1932, in Columbia, South Carolina. She departed this life on Monday, March 21, 2025, in Queens, New York, surrounded by those who cherished her.
Geneva was a woman of wisdom, grace, and resilience. She pursued her education at Queensborough Community College, earning an Associate’s Degree in Psychology. Her passion for understanding people was evident in the way she lived her life—with kindness, warmth, and an open heart.
She dedicated 33 years of service to the United States Postal Service before retiring in 1997. Known for her strong work ethic and unwavering dedication, she made a lasting impact on her colleagues and community.
Geneva was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie Wilson, and her son, Charlie Wilson Jr.
Her legacy continues through her loving daughters, Nancy Wilson, and Charlene (Jimi) Watts; her cherished granddaughters, Trina Wilson, and Yolanda Wilson; and her adored great-granddaughters, Tatyana Clancy and Briana Forbes. She is also survived by her dear sister, Lanora Long, and nephews, Vincent Long and Craig Long, along with a host of cousins, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Boot had a zest for life—she loved to travel, enjoyed the open road, and found great joy in driving. Her adventurous spirit and love for exploration were inspiring to all who knew her.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. As we celebrate her homegoing, we honor the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared.
