Franklin Alexander James, the eldest child of the late George and Dorothy James, was born September 17,1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed his life at home in the care of his loving and devoted niece Shantel (Ruben) James-Folk and family on January 5,2022.
Frank affectionately known received Christ at an early age. And was an active member of Orchard Street United Methodist Church. He received his education in Baltimore City Schools, graduating from Douglass Sr. High School in 1962. Frank was an outstanding Athlete. He received enormous awards and scholarships. He was truly an All-American Super Star in Football, Basketball and Baseball. He also attended North Carolina A&T in 1962.
In September 1963 he married Ms. Brenda Gross their union was blessed with four extremely talented sons. Frank (Spoon), Kenneth, Keith, and Karl. Around 1966 Frank join the Steamship Trade Assn/International Longshoremen Assn. which he became one of the top crane operators. After over 30 years later Frank retired due to his eyesight. In the early 90’s Frank remarried Ms. Daphne Gregory and moved his family to Summerville, South Carolina. Frank enjoyed Family, Music, Sports and a good Poker game. You could sometimes find yourself taking a seat listening to him playing the trumpet; Or going on a trip to the local bowling alley. Frank also loved his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews very much. He became very close to his great niece Mikel and great nephews K von, Kamrin and Emanuel (Manny).
He was preceded in death by Brothers Kenneth and George S. James, Son Frank Kevin (Spoon) James.
He Leaves to Cherish his memory wife; Daphne James, sons; Kenneth (Barbara), Keith, Karl, Robert (Sylvia), Anthony (Tamika), Earle (Shanique), James (Stacey), God-son; Anthony Jackson, daughter; Marqueta Lewis, sister; Sharon James-Hall, Sister -n- laws; Renee James, Priscilla Gregory, Angela Crawley, brother-in-law; Jeff Pryer, aunts; Mary Sims, Nancy James, Maria James, 32 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
