Frankie L. "Nose" Doctor, Sr.

Frankie Lane Doctor, Sr., was born September 1, 1951, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late Frank Doctor Jr., and Bernice Broome Doctor.  He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

“Nose” as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Richland County. During his life he was employed as a master brick mason with Po Boy Brick Masonry and others, as a master mechanic, and a master of many crafts. Nose was truly a “Jack of All Trades” and will be remembered for his hard-working spirit.

During his spare time, he found great joy in fishing, traveling, making his family and friends laugh, watching sports and cheering on his favorite team, the Miami Dolphins. He also loved studying the law. He knew both state and federal laws very well and used his vast knowledge to help many men gain their freedom.

Nose touched the lives of countless people through his generous, loving and genuine heart.   To know him was to love him.  The love he had for his family was immeasurable; and he was a protector to everyone dear and close to him.  The memories shared will remain treasured ones forever and will live on in the hearts of all those who were blessed to have known him.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Moore Doctor; brothers, Anthony Doctor, Will R. Doctor, and Frank Rawlinson; sister, Frances Doctor Brice; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Mattie Broome; paternal grandparents, Frank and Emma Doctor; mother-in-law, Carrie Moore; sister-in-law, Soledad Doctor; and his brother-in-law, Calvin Brice, Sr.

Nose leaves to cherish his fond memories his fiancé,  Yolanda Cofield; sons, Frankie Doctor, Jr., Christopher Doctor, Demetrick Doctor, Andre Bell,  Tremon Doctor, and Shashony Maclemore; daughter, Lafonda Bostic; sister, Wygeana McQueen; brothers, Roosevelt Doctor and Bernard Doctor; sisters-in-law, Barbara Doctor, Alethan Rawlinson, Linda Moore, Loretta Ashford and Melissa Jackson; brothers-in-law, Dennis Moore, Vincent Moore, and Marvin Moore; Devon Kirk who he loved as his own, cousin/sister, Brenda (Lewis) Scott; cousin/brother, Pierre (Debra) Hunter; as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
