Farish Leon Anderson, Sr. was born in Columbia, South Carolina to Aiken and Alberta Cook Anderson on May 13, 1959. He departed this life on May 27, 2020.
Farish was a decorated Retired Sergeant First Class of the United States Army, serving 23 years. He was dedicated to his service to the military and to his country. Farish respected among his peers and hailed from his superiors. His discipline and ability to lead gave him many opportunities to serve in the civilian sector well pass his retirement from the Military.
Farish L. Anderson, Sr. was also a Man of God, one who served well in the Army, this time God’s Army. He was an Ordained Elder and a teacher of the Gospel. Elder Anderson touched many lives as a Deacon, Youth Pastor, Teacher, and church Leader. His ability to organize and follow-through helped to assist any and all organizations he served.
Farish has touched many lives, with his humor, compassion and his GOD-Given Talent to make up songs about anything. Many of us have original pieces that he sang just for us. We all know he lived a full life in his 61 years. He was a HARD worker and dedicated to the task at hand in whatever capacity assigned. He believed everything has a place and demonstrated this in his life.
Farish was a father, a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, and a friend. In all of his relationships and connections is where he demonstrated best, that everything has a place. He was to everyone what his role was, at his capacity. He loved all "the Farish Leon Anderson way," REAL.
He leaves to Cherish His Memory: his mother, Alberta Cook Anderson; three sisters, Renea Anderson, Norma Jean Carter, and Kimmy Harris (Franklin); three children, Marcus Santelle King, Farisha Nicole Christian (Cornell), and Farish Leon Anderson (Bontavia); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceding him in Death is his Father Aiken Anderson.
