Fannie M. Jones Obituary

Fannie Mae Jones was born May 14, 1953, in Joliet, Illinois, the beloved daughter of the late Clark, Sr.  and Lizzie Mae April Simpson. Fannie departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the age of seventy-three (73).

Fannie worked at First Nazareth Child Development Center as a Teacher  in the baby room. She loved her babies and co-workers; they were her pride, joy and 2nd  family. Fannie spoke so highly of everyone there because it was her home away from home.

Besides spending time talking with her family, Fannie loved playing games on her Phone/iPad, chit chatting, dancing with her grandkids on Facetime and was dedicated to taking care of her plants.

Though she is no longer physically with us, she has left a legacy of love to all those whose lives she so lovingly touched.

In addition to her parents, Fannie was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Da’Keisha Jones; sister, Maryann Jones; and nephews, Markell Simpson  and Gabriel Jones.

Fannie is lovingly survived by her four (4) daughters, Cassandra Jones, Rebecca Jones (Adrain Ellis), Kizzy Jones and Keonna Jones; twelve (12) adoring grandchildren, Ashley Jones, Jordan Jones, Alexis Jones, Jeremiah Bell Jr., Jaylen Bell, Amari Bell, Arianna Thompson, Emoniee Turner, Amarion Jones, Armani Jones, Morgan Turner and Aubree Turner; twenty (20) great grandchildren, McKinleigh Brooks, Jayce Jones, Jazel Jones, Zaine Moore, Nevaeh Johnson, Kyngston Hall, Princeton Hall, Novah Johnson, Lai’la Bell, Elise Bell, Aleina Pina, Jadian Bell, Aa’Vion Bell, Ar’mon Bell, Aa’Miyah Bell, Kaison Smith, Jerzi Turner, Jaxon Turner, Eric Lurry IV and Aulani Slaughter; loving brothers and sisters, Alice Simpson, Stacey Simpson, Elizabeth Simpson, Sherry (Keith) Ellis, Larry Simpson, Danny Simpson, Clark Simpson Jr., and Marvin (Maria) Simpson; as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
