Mother Evelyn M. Caldwell peacefully transitioned from this earthly life into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 26, 2026. She was a precious gift to her family and her life reflected strength, and unwavering faith in God.
Evelyn and her devoted husband, Elliott Caldwell, lovingly raised five beautiful children. She often testified of her gratitude to the Lord for allowing her to see her children grow into adulthood and to behold the blessing of grandchildren.
Educated in the Richland County school system. Evelyn worked faithfully as a cook at Moon Glow Café and later worked at Bibleway Day Care Center. She eventually opened her own home daycare, nurturing children with patience, love, and a gentle spirit.
Evelyn first joined Bibleway Church of Atlas Road and later moved her membership to True Believers Church. She served faithfully on the Usher Board, worked within the Women’s Auxiliary, and was honored as one of the Mothers of the Church—offering wisdom, prayer, and encouragement to all who crossed her path.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott Caldwell; and four of their children, Uzell, Veronica, Sandra and Daron.
Leaving to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted daughter, Sheila (Nathaniel) Heatley, two (2) sisters, Princess Wise and Veronica Johnson, nine (9) grandchildren, 19 Great‑Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and dear friends all of whom will miss her dearly, but rejoice because she is now at peace and resting with the Lord.
