Evangelist Cynthia Elizabeth Washington was born December 2, 1962, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved daughter of the late Evangelist Queenie Washington and Mr. Ben Williams. On Monday, December 8, 2025, she departed this life and went home to be with the Lord. Finishing a good fight after 63 years.
Cynthia was educated in the public schools of South Carolina.
Evangelist Washington loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Holy Temple of God Church under the leadership of Pastor Elizabeth Carmichael for more than twenty years. During her tenue at Holy Temple, she served as church secretary, Evangelist, church drummer, and as the pastor’s right hand as armor bearer when needed, serving faithfully until her health declined.
Though she is no longer physically with us, she has left a legacy of love for her family, and devotion to God and her church, that will forever live in the hearts and lives of all those who loved and knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, James Washington.
Those who will forever cherish fond and precious memories of Evangelist Washington are her husband, Marcellus Baker of Columbia, SC; her loving cousins, Ike Wolford, Barry Lucas and Mary Lucas, all of Columbia, SC; along with a host of other loving relatives, her church family and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure, but rejoice that she is now resting with the Lord.
