Ernestine Weston Anderson was born August 26, 1944, the beloved daughter of the late Levion Sr. and Lucille Sumpter Weston. On Friday, March 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, she departed this earthly life for eternal life.
“Big Mama,” as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Richland County. She was formerly employed with Bryan Center in Columbia, South Carolina.
Big Mama had a beautiful and forgiving soul. She was a plant lover and also found happiness in cooking for her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who would help anyone in need. Her radiant smile lit up and room that she entered.
In addition to her parents, Ernestine was preceded by her husband, Leray Anderson; daughter, Carol Norris; sons, Eugene and Antonio Weston; great-grandson, Kashaan Sims; and sisters, Dorothy Bing and Joyce Bassett.
Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories of Ernestine are her loving daughter, Canaria Norris; and son, Edward (Ernestine) Norris; a host of adoring grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; sisters, Wilhelmina Weston, Rosena Jones, Marilyn (Julius) Wardley and Patricia Weston; brothers, Joseph Weston, Sr., Jerome Weston, Furman Weston and Arnold (Doris) Bassett; as well as a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
