Ernest Rikard Obituary
Mr. Ernest Rikard, better known as “Big John” was born September 4, 1938 to the late Ernest T. Holman and Annie Lee Rikard. He departed this life on February 11, 2021, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.
During his spare time, he enjoyed working on automobiles and fishing. He left a lasting memory with everyone he met. He was employed by Happy Daddy’s Towing Service for over 25 years.
Mr. Rikard was predeceased by his son, Willie Earl Holman, sisters Gussie Mae Bookman, Bonnie Wilson and brother, Eugene Samuel.
He is survived by his wife Alberta Mills Rikard; seven children, Jenny Okpobrisi of Nashville Tennessee, Lisa Hammond, Christopher Hammond, Anthony Maxwell, Cory Mills (Brandy), Kernard Mills and William Mills all of Columbia, SC; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; siblings Katie Robinson (Leroy) of Leesville, SC, Kathy Brooks of Columbia, SC, Henrietta Samuel, Phyllis Ann Ruff, Lawson Samuel, Jr., Rodney Wise, all of Newberry, SC, Kenneth Samuel (Jannie) of Prosperity, SC and James Phillip Samuel (Barbara) of Augusta, GA; special friend, Earl Harrison and a host of nieces, nephews and other children’s lives he touched and loved dearly.
