Elnora "Mae" Reese Kerrison, a devoted mother was born on November 29, 1954, in Columbia, South Carolina. She departed this life on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Although Mae was the beloved daughter of the late Elnora Reese and Simon Hamilton; she was reared by the late Eva Green.
Mae attended C. A. Johnson High School and Booker T. Washington in Columbia, South Carolina. She dedicated more than 30 years of service as a food service worker, taking pride in caring for others through her work. Her strong work ethic, unwavering dedication, and compassionate nature left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Above all else, Mae treasured her family. She found her greatest joy in being a mother and devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her three beloved sons and her cousin Channey Green’s six children as well. Mae nurtured with unconditional love, wisdom, strength, and guidance.
Mae was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. She enjoyed cooking and sharing laughter with family and friends.
A faithful woman of God, Mae was a dedicated member of Bible Way Church in Columbia, South Carolina. Her faith was the foundation of her life, providing her strength during difficult times.
Mae will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her gentle heart, and her unwavering love for her family. Her memory will remain a blessing and a source of strength to those who loved her.
In addition to her parents and Eva Green, she was also preceded in death by her devoted husband, James Carney Kerrison of Walterboro, South Carolina and her cousins, Emma Lee Williams and Channey Green.
Mae is survived by her three loving sons, James Carney Reese, Lorenzo Jose Kerrison (DeAngela Palmer Kerrison), and Chadrick Cornelius Kerrison; three grandchildren, Isaiah Raekwon Caldwell, Chadrick Morgan, and Lorenzia Kerrison; three great grandchildren and a host of cousins and other loving relatives and dear friends all whom will miss her dearly.
