Ellis Jefferson Belton was born August 27, 1973, in Columbia, South Carolina, the son of the Martha “Polly” Belton and the late Ellis Belton. On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, God, in His infinite wisdom, called home Ellis Jefferson Belton to rest from his journey here on earth. He was fifty-one (51).
Ellis, or “Jeff” as he was affectionately known, received his early education in the public schools of Richland School District One, graduating from Eau Claire High School.
After completing studies at Midlands Technical College, he worked for Washington Inventory Services (WIS) and Husqvarna as a manufacturing lead. He also worked alongside his father in his plumbing business.
Jeff enjoyed playing baseball with the Blythewood Hawks, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family making joyful memories. He will be deeply missed as his jokes and dancing brought light to every moment of our lives.
Though he is no longer physically with us, his loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all those who loved and knew him.
He leaves to cherish precious memories his beloved wife of twenty-four (24) years, Theresa Belton; three loving and cherished daughters, Tierra, Ja’yla and Tellisa; his loving mother, Martha Belton; and sister, Judy Belton of Columbia; father and mother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Brown; brothers in-law, Angelo and Anton Brown; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by his departure.
