Mrs. Elizabeth Carter was born on September 5, 1945, in Columbia, SC, the daughter of Herbert Pringle and Soflonia Robinson. Mrs. Carter departed this life on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at her home after an extended illness.
One of seven children, Elizabeth was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, and later went to Rutledge College in Columbia, SC. She was employed for many years in the security industry.
Elizabeth accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Mrs. Carter was a sweet and pleasant person. Although she could be rather feisty at times, she was very down to earth, loved and trusted the Lord. She taught her children and grandchildren to always “Honor thy Mother and Father.” She made sure they knew the “Ten Commandments”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Pringle, Soflonia Robinson and Rena Pringle Lloyd; her youngest son, Master Lawrence Dwayne Richardson; and one brother, Ralph Robinson.
Those who are cherishing her fond and precious memories are her husband, Washington Carer; daughter, Diane (Ulysses) Williams; brothers, John (Janice) Robinson of Rome, NY, James (Catherine) Robinson, David (Tammy) Robinson, Donald Robinson, and Todd Whaley all of Columbia, SC; her very special granddaughters, Tekinya (Taj) Bostic, Antavia K. Williams, and Synai James all of Columbia, SC; 11 great-grandchildren in Columbia, SC; 2 great-grandchildren GA; and a host of family and friends that will miss her dearly.
