Elizabeth Jones Obituary

Elizabeth Roberts Jones was born July 25, 1932 in Kershaw County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Lymus Gasden and Martha Ann Roberts. Elizabeth entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 surrounded by family.

Elizabeth joined Mt. Prospect United Methodist Church in Lugoff, SC at an early age. She and her family then moved to Columbia where she became a member of Stover Chapel AME Church. She was a faithful choir member until her health declined.

Elizabeth attended the public-school system of Kershaw County. She was employed at Richland Memorial Hospital (Prisma Health Richland) for most of her working life until she retired in 2004.

Traveling was a favorite pastime for Elizabeth, often visiting relatives up north, as well as going to Florida and on cruises. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Audrey Roberts and her husband Henry Jones.

Loved ones left to cherish and celebrate her memory are her loving and devoted sons, Claude (Marilyn) Roberts and David (Wanda) Roberts; sisters, Alberta Blanding Bennet, Louise Hamme, Cora (Isiah) Canteen; brother, Charles (Ruth) Leath Jr; grandchildren, LaToyer, Lindsay, Donovan, Xzarius, Steven and Tarsus; four great grandchildren , and a host of relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
