Eliza E. Evans

Eliza E. Evans was born on September 13, 1931 to Mr. & Mrs. James and Charlie Mae Entzminger. She passed away early Thursday morning, May 21, 2020 in her home in the arms of her loving husband of 59 years.

Eliza was educated in public schools of South Carolina. She went on to open her own beauty shop which she owned until her health declined. Eliza served as the Assistant Financial Secretary for South Carolina State Cosmetology Association (SCSCA) for 12 years (1992-2004). She also served as the Financial Secretary for the Columbia City-Wide Beauticians Club of SCSCA for 16 years (1988-2004) and the National Beauty Culturists League, Inc. for over 30 years. Eliza was an excellent fundraiser and she devoted her time helping others. She was a dedicated member.

Eliza married the loved of her life Silas E. Evans in 1961.

Eliza was a member of Sidney Park CME Park where she served on the Missionary Board and worked diligently with the Mammal Tea program.

Eliza loved fishing, cooking, and baking.

Eliza was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Bernice Marshall and Mozell Entzminger; and her only child Willie T. Evans.

Eliza leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, Silas E. Evans of Columbia, SC; one stepson, Dearl (Anneice) Cherry of Escatawpa, Mississippi; one brother-in-law, Donald Evans of Moss Point, Mississippi; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
