Doris Butler

Dori Butler was born on September 15, 1954 in Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. She was the fourth daughter of the late Blamis-Garrett and Willie Amelia Butler. She went to her eternal home of Sunday, January 10, 2021.

She moved with her family to Bronx, NY, in the late 1960’s. She was educated in the New York City Public Schools System.

She worked as a supervisor at Walgreen’s Drug Store and as a Home Health Aide. She later retired as a school bus driver. She loved going to church and serving the Lord. She read the bible and listened to gospel music every day.

She was a devoted mother and sister. She had only one son, Edward Butler. She loved spending time with her family, laughing , talking and most of all cooking. Her homemade dressing was highly requested at the family holiday celebrations. She would wrap her arms around family members when they were sick and take care of them.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Willie Amelia and Blamis and her sisters, Carolyn, Marilyn and Edith.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her son, Edward Butler; two sisters, Julia and Helene; one grandson, Edward, Jr; nieces, Tekisha, Kyshonna, Tameka, Tahiesha, Erica and Jennifer; nephews, Robert, Earl, Clifton and Korey and a host of other relatives and friends.

We will miss you, love you and will forever carry you in our hearts.
