Donald Griffin was born October 11, 1951 to Berniece Jones and Herbert Griffin, in Brooklyn N.Y. He transitioned on June 4, 2021 in Columbia, SC.
Donald attended Aviation Career and Technology High School in Queens, N.Y. and later earned an associate degree from New York City College of Technology. He held a long career with Metro-North Railroad, Management Information Systems, in New York City and retired after 30 years of service. After retirement he enjoyed watching sports and news, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Donald was a long-term member of the First Scottish Right Grand Lodge AF & AM of N.Y., and served as the Worshipful Master of Hiram Lodge #1, for 6-8 years. He was an ILL 33rd Degree Mason.
Donald was loved immensely by everyone. His big laugh would light up a room. The perseverance and integrity he showed through challenges was a great source of strength. He was kindhearted and loyal to his friends and family. Donald will be remembered today and always with love, affection, and gratitude.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Minimah, daughters Anisah and Dawn, son Micheal, grandchildren Adonis, Anjali, and Aiden, step-children Nailah, Ghais, Taliah, Sabree, step-grandchildren Tahiem, Khalil, Tariq, Tamir, aunt Lorraine, nieces, nephews, great grandchild Aiden, and son-in-law Josh, who will all miss him deeply.
