Donald Kirby, Jr. was born on January 16, 1979, the beloved and third son of Sister Patricia A. Kirby and the late Deacon Donald Kirby, Sr. After a brief illness Donald departed this life on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Post Acute Center, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Donald received his formal education in the Richland County Public School System and graduated from Eau Claire High School, Columbia, South Carolina in 1998. He entered Culinary School and enjoyed making beautiful meals. In his last employment Donald was a shift leader for the McDonald's Company.
Donald accepted Christ at an early age and attended the Household of Faith Holiness Church in Columbia. He took pleasure in listening to sermons, good gospel music and he sang on the choir. Among Donald's favorite Scriptures to recite and meditate and allowed to resonate in his spirit were Psalm 27:1-6 and Psalm 100. He lovingly and devotedly assisted his mother, Apostle Patricia Jenkins, in ministry at New Hope Outreach & Restoration Ministry.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Deacon Donald Kirby, Sr.
Donald leaves to cherish his loving memory his mother, Apostle Patricia B. Jenkins of Columbia, SC; three brothers, Alvin Reddick of Oakland, CA, Corey Reddick and Jeremiah (Janell) Boulware, both of Columbia, SC; two nieces, Krystal Canty of Bennettsville, SC, and Tanae Boulware of Columbia, SC; one nephew, Elijah Boulware of Prosperity, SC; one great niece, Serenity Canty; one great nephew, Chase Canty (Bennettsville, SC; loving maternal aunts, Modestine Welch, Wilodean Perry, Geraldine Myers and Shirley Newton all of Columbia, SC; loving paternal aunts, Ruby Blanding of Columbia, SC and Betty Jean Kirby of Lexington, SC; great uncle, Bishop David Reddick of Enterprise, AL; and a host of caring cousins and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him, but rejoice that he is now resting.
