Don Pough Jr., affectionately known as “Uncle Jr.”, was born November 13, 1957 in Orangeburg, SC to the late Don Pough Sr. and Queen Ester Furtick. He was raised in Columbia, SC where he attended Eau Claire High School. Don went on to work for Sloan Construction in Columbia, SC for 15 years and then John Scott Asphalt and pavement in West Columbia until he retired.
Don united in holy matrimony to the late Hattie Ann Johnson in March 1989 in Columbia, SC. Early in life, he attended Covenant Community Fellowship church where he accepted the Lord as his savior.
Don enjoyed fishing, tending to his garden, and watching old western movies. He was a loving father who loved to tell jokes.
Don leaves to cherish his memories: his only son Don (Shena) Pough Jr of Mebane,NC , his daughters Renee Johnson, LaVasha Johnson Pough, Charlene Johnson, and fifteen grandchildren all of Columbia; his sisters, Alma Eleazer, Christine Pough, Catherine Pough, Estella LeSane, Dorothy Wilson, and Brenda (Delmore) Cain all of Columbia and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Hattie Ann Pough; parents, all of his brothers, his sister Maggie Lou, Minnie Scipio, and Christy McFadden
