Diane McDaniel, the beloved daughter of the late Corrie and Avon Pickett was born September 23, 1961, in Columbia, South Carolina. On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, she gained her heavenly wings and passed away peacefully with her daughter at her bedside.
Affectionately called Lady “D” by family and friends, Diane was educated in the public school of Richland County School District One and graduated from A. C. Flora High School in 1979. Diane had a passion for cooking. She was a head cook at Fort Jackson Military Base. She also cooked at Craft Farrow State hospital, and late worked in Custodial Services.
Diane attended Life Living ministries where she attended until her health declined. During her time at LLM she was a member of Care Group #2.
Diane love listening to music, and she cooked every day when she could. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Those who are cherishing Diane’s fond and precious memories are her loving and devoted daughter, Michelle McDaniel of Columbia, SC; her caring son, Spencer (Ashley Tucker) McDaniel of Columbia, SC; granddaughters, Tambrica McDaniel and Ja’diamond McDaniel; grandson, Spencer McDaniel, Jr.; great-grandson, Javeon McDaniel; her caring brother, Kenneth McDaniel of Columbia, SC; her loving sisters, Mary (Harry) Lacewell of Brooklyn, NY; and Francine Beulvine of North Carolina; and her special friend, Cynthia Watson; a host other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will miss her dearly, but rejoice that she is resting with the Lord.
