Dewayne L. Evans was born January 20, 1979, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of Joseph L. Evans and the late Viola C. Wilson Evans. He departed this earthly life suddenly on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the age of forty-six (46).
Born and raised in Columbia, SC, Dewayne was educated in the public schools of Richland School District Two where he was a proud graduate of Spring Valley High School. He worked in food services with the local school district, where he was known for his kindness, easy smile, and the genuine care he showed to those around him.
Dewayne was a loving and devoted father, son, brother, nephew and friend, whose memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though he is no longer physically with us, he has left a legacy of love that will forever live in our hearts. May he rest in everlasting peace.
Dewayne will be forever cherished by his beloved daughter, Envi Evans, and (Kim Mintz, Envi’s mother); his loving father, Joseph L. (Monica L., stepmother) Evans; loving siblings, Quanita McFarlan, Charlene Evans, Julia Evans and Ti’unna L. Langley; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom are sadden by his untimely departure.
