Deloite Deloris J. White Obituary

Deloite Deloris “Sugar Foot” Jones White was born April 1, 1951, in Hopkins, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Lloyd Drayton Flemming and Susie Mae Jones. She departed this life on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

She was educated in the Public Schools of Richland County graduating in the Class of 1968 from Lower Richland High School. Deloris furthered her education by attending Midlands Technical College, and later becoming a Medical Assistant.

Deloris began her employment at the Square D Company, and  from there was employed with Piedmont Products. Deloris wore many hats, she later became a Private Investigator with the Green and Walkins Company, and then with The Babcock Center, worked as Process Server, and Limousine Service and Taxi Service.

Deloris gave her life to the Lord at an early age and was baptized at  Zion Benevolent Baptist Church in Hopkins, South Carolina. She enjoyed traveling in the air, by ways of car, but most of all she enjoyed cruising on the ocean. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed  cooking for them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Aurthur D. Anderson, Ray Charles Jones, Lloyd Drayton Flemming Jr., and Tyrone Jones; two sisters, Mary Kirland, and Belinda Jones Adams; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Deloris leaves to cherish her memories one son, Lawrence Edward Jones, Jr. of Columbia, SC; one granddaughter, Lauren E. Jones of Charlotte, NC; one grandson, Lawrence Edward Jones, Ill of Columbia, SC; daughter in love, Lou Ann White, of Columbia, SC; brother, John Edward (Wilma) Jackson, of Hopkins SC; sisters, Betty Jones of Baltimore, Maryland; Karen Jones, Sallie A. Robert of Columbia, SC, Loris Barnett, Peggy (Benjamin) Parker of Hopkins, SC, Ella Washington Fox of Cleveland, Ohio, and Lottie (Robert) Harris of Austin, Texas; one aunt, Mae Bell (Frank) Taylor of Eastover, SC; and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
