Decima Virginia Young was born September 6, 1969, in the Bronx, New York, the beloved daughter of the late Virginia D. Camps and Roland F. Camps. On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, an angel was sent to escort her spirit home to rest in the arms of the Lord.
Upon relocating to South Carolina, “Dee”, as she was affectionately called attended Richland School District One Schools, graduating from W. J. Keenan High School in Columbia, SC, and continued her education, earning an associate's degree in the medical field. Decima was employed by The State of South Carolina at C. M. Tucker and Pruitt Health Nursing Homes.
During her early years, “Dee” accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined Trinity Baptist Church.
Her love for her family and friends was immeasurable. She enjoyed traveling, coming together with family, and having a good time.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Davis; and two brothers, Tony Reardon and Jose Diaz Jr.
Those remaining to forever cherish Decima’s memories are her loving daughter, Yolonda (Hakim) Hopgood; three loving sons, Xavius Camps, Tyrone Young Jr., and Emmanuel Young; five adoring grandchildren, Josiah Herbert, Ariyahna Hopgood, Honesty Hopgood, Aroura Young, and Liani Young; caring brothers, Terry Reardon, Mikey (Shirley) Diaz, and Roland (Rylee) Camps Jr., loving sisters, Susan Bostick, Comara Lewis, Regina Diaz, and Evangelina Diaz; a host of nieces and nephews and other loving relatives and dear friends, all whom will miss her dearly.
