Debra Ann Jones was born January 31, 1967, in Bronx, NY, the beloved daughter of Veronica Grazette and the late Clarence Jones II. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Debra received most of her education through Miami-Dade County public school system, eventually attending Job Corps where she later received her GED.
She was employed in fast food management for several years before pursuing her true passion, cosmetology. Debra thrived as a cosmetologist, managing several salons under the Regis Corporation umbrella and later went on to become a master barber, acquired her own salon, and was a two-time recipient of The Redken Master Colorist Award, an honor that made her immensely proud.
Family was especially important to Debra, and her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved to cook, travel, spend time with her children and grandchildren, explore diverse cultures, and as she would often say, “beautify the world.” Though she is no longer physically with us, she has left us a legacy of love that will continue to shape and mold the lives of those she loved dearly.
In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her life partner of over 20 years, Mr. Troy Jamison Sr.
Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories of Debra are her loving children, Troy (Zharel) Jamison Jr., Demetrice (Vanessa) Jones, and Shanice (Byron) Jamison-Brennen; adoring grandchildren, Trey, Jada, Tatyana, Journei, Troy III, Demetrice Jr. and Zayden; her loving mother, Veronica Grazette; caring brothers, Clarence (Tymira) Jones, Sylvan Grazette and George Morton; loving sisters, Sharon Jones-Alexander and Christina Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her barbershop family whom she loved dearly, all of whom will dearly miss her.
