Debra Marie Moody English was born December 3, 1955, in Temple Texas, the third child of seven children born to the late Herbert and Leola Green Moody. She departed this earthly life on Monday, February 2, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina.
“Deb” as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Richland County. After school, Debra entered the workforce where she was a faithful and dedicated employee of over 20 years with Crown Contract Services at Fort Jackson.
Debra was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who loved her children, grandchildren, siblings and friends immensely. She was always the life of the party and loved to have fun. Even though she is no longer here physically, she has left a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts and lives of all those who loved and knew her.
Debra was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin “Yank” English, her parents, her brother, Terry O. Moody, and sister, Karen A. Asmond.
Debra leaves to mourn her passing her children, Erica (Kenneth) Plummer, and David (Nicola Weston) English, seven grandchildren, Kristion Plummer, Da’Vaughn English, Kameron Plummer, Da’Nya English, Karon Plummer, Damoni English, and Destinee English; siblings, Harvey (Dorothy) Green, Sandra (James) Foreman, Herbert Moody II, and Gregory (Deon) Moody; a host of nieces and nephews, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
