Deborah Yvette Marshall was born September 1, 1984. She was the beloved daughter of Theresa Hynson and the late Richard Elliot Marshall. She departed this life to be with the Lord on Friday, June 3, 2022, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Deborah’s early education was in the public schools of New York where she attended Grace Lutheran School in Queens, New York. After moving to North Carolina with her family, she attended Bertie High School. Upon relocating to Columbia, South Carolina, she attended the public schools of Richland County graduating from Columbia High School as Valedictorian of the Class of 2002.
Deborah was a Virtuous Woman of God. While in New York, she attended, and was baptized at St. Luke’s Baptist Church. She would occasionally attend Platt Springs Baptist Church and Jesus Christ’s Church in Winnsboro, South Carolina. Her spirit was in tuned with God. She carried her sword (her Bible) in her hand and had songs of praise in her heart. She was a worshipper and she loved God’s Word.
Deborah was kind and always displayed a heart of gold; she was also very enthusiastic, always putting others needs before her own. Her smile and bright eyes would light up a room. She enjoyed having fun and making others laugh, (her laugh was so infectious, it would get on your nerves); she was the life of the party. Though Deborah did not have children of her own, each of her nephews and nieces knew that they were special to her, and they knew that they were her babies, and she was their “Momtee.”
Deborah transitioned to her heavenly home to be with her father; her grandparents, Melvin and Theresa Hynson; her great-grandmother, Eula M. Stephen; her uncle, Thomas Hynson; her aunt Deborah Marshall; and her nephew, Tiquan Taylor.
Those who will forever cherish Deborah’s fond and precious memories are her loving mother and stepfather, Theresa H. (John) Davis; her caring brother, Joshua (Victoria) Marshall of Allentown, PA; loving sisters, Shantay (Corey) Crichlow of Queens, NY; Natasha (Tyron ) Longmire, Lakesha Marshall (Solomon) Woods, and Ieshia (Jeremiah) Williams, all of South Carolina; her special “Momtee” babies her nephews and nieces, Justin, Ja’leil, Quadaiza, Kaniya, Na’Aja, Kamron, Samari, Kamara, Sainya, Kamiya, Aniyah, Jeremiah, Jr., Jacques, Jasiah, Jaliyah, Jamiyah, Micaiah, Isaiah, Paris, Arielle and Joshua; her caring grandmother Lois Menyweather; and her caring grandfather, Curtis Clark; two caring uncles, Melvin Hynson and Nathaniel Hynson; and her loving aunt, Geneieve Hynson; a host of cousins, other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
