Deacon Larry Gallman Obituary

Deacon Larry Gallman was born on October 25, 1946 to the late John and Geneva Waldrop Gallman in Little Mountain, South Carolina. He departed this life for his eternal home on Monday, October 7, 2019 at his home.

Larry was educated in the public schools of Richland County and attended C.A. Johnson High School. He also attended Midlands Tech for Welding where he became a certified welder. He held many welding jobs, the last being TCM where he retired. Much of the iron work on older buildings around Columbia and Charleston is his work.

Larry was married to Barbara for 51 years. They met in high school. Together they built a family that Larry loved. He was often heard saying “Family is Everything.” Larry loved landscaping and it became his main job after retiring. He was a master landscaper and used his own techniques.

Larry was baptized at an early age at St. John Baptist Church.  He loved serving God and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a former member of the brotherhood and the CA Faulk Singers/Inspirational Singers. He loved fishing and would go with his family friends, and the church. He loved out fishing the Deacons at their retreat.
