De'Jarvis Goodson-Elder

De’Jarvis Goodson Elder was born on May 10, 1949 in Columbia, SC. She was the beloved daughter of Sadie Wallace Goodson and Thaddeus H. Goodson, Jr. She was affectionately called “Sister” by family and “Dee” by her friends. She made her transition from earth to her heavenly home on January 14, 2021.

Sister attended the public schools of Richland County. She graduated from Hopkins High School in 1966.

At an early age, she professed her faith in God and was baptized at Zion Chapel Baptist Church #2.

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to James Elder in January 1970. She was employed at the University of South Carolina and Palmetto Health until her retirement.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Though she is no longer physically with us, her kind and loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts and lives of all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, TiaJuana Goodson-Jones.

Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Damon Elder; daughter, Ebony Goodson; brother Lloyd “LC” (Florence) Goodson; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends all whom will miss her dearly.
