David Earl Porter

David Earl Porter, known as Dave, was born December 5,1964 in Columbia, SC. He was the beloved son of Esau and Annie Mae Porter. David transition on Sunday, September 19, 2021 after a short illness in the home surrounded by his family that loved him dearly.

Dave was educated in the public schools of Richland County. Dave Graduated from Columbia High School in 1984. After graduation, he started working with Midland Roofing and Aqua Seal. He was well known to everyone he met and stood out as a meek, loving, humble and calm natured individual. Dave inspired everyone who came in contact with him.

David was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age at the Apostolic Church of Christ, Columbia, SC.

Dave was truly cherished and loved by all who knew him., He was a loving and devoted father, brother, uncle and friend.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Esau and Annie Mae Gilmore Porter; four brothers, Thomas Porter, Isaiah Porter, Johnny Porter and Charles Gilmore; two sisters, Marie Gilyard and Beatrice Porter.

David leaves to sons, David (Jessica)Porter, Jr and David K. (Elaine) Porter; grandchildren, Justin Garrett, ZaRhyh’ana Porter, Za’kiyah Porter, Za’Niyah Porter Eniale Porter, Karter Porter and Messiah Robinson; four sisters, Mary Jefferson, Janie Haggins, Berneatha Haggins and Margaret Johnson; brother, Henry Porter and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, cousins and friends to cherish his precious memories.
