David Weathers, Jr.

David Weathers, Jr. was born in Columbia, SC on December 11, 1968, to David Weathers, Sr. and Patricia Ann Weathers. He departed this life to be with the Lord on January 8, 2021, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC.

David went to Eau-Claire High School and graduated in 1988. He went on to work at Alexander Funeral Home for four years and was the leader of five construction sites. David ran the community food pantry for three years. He was well known among many friends as “Big D”.

David was a member of Beauty for Ashes Church, where he attended faithfully. He accepted duties on various church ministries. His faith was strong because he relied on his heavenly father. David embraced life and was a committed servant of God. He was caring, a loving companion, father, brother, son and friend. He had a giving heart and was supportive of anyone in need. David spoke words of wisdom to many on his Christian journey. He was involved in so many ministries. He was currently running a community food pantry that people near and far depended on. He was well known for his beautiful voice singing God’s praises. He lived and died with style, grace and dignity. David cherished his family and to know him was to love him. David was loved by many.

Left to cherish his precious memories are, his mother, Patricia Ann Weathers, son, David Weathers III; sister, Tonya Weathers; brothers, YuKio (Yolonda) Demetrius Weathers and Michael F. (Joy) Weathers; three grandchildren, Jordan Boykins, Brandon Weathers and Ja’Cere Weathers; a companion of 10 years, Lynette PeeGea; step-sons, Darius Williams, Avis Williams, Amarri Hartzog; step-daughter, Breona PeeGea and a host of other loving relatives.
