Mrs. Cornelia Mae Fair was born July 22, 1929, in Columbia, South Carolina. Mrs. Fair was the youngest daughter of the late Ophelia Taylor Williams and George Henry Williams, Sr. She was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
Mrs. Fair was affectionately called, “Nealie” by friends and family who knew her well. She was educated in Columbia, South Carolina public schools, and a graduate of the first graduating class of C. A. Johnson High School. As a young adult she worked at Whiteway Laundry, until it closed. Later she worked at Custom Cleaners, at Shakespeare's Heating and Installation and retired as a domestic worker.
Mrs. Fair was first married to the late Willie James Davis and, to this union Mrs. Fair was blessed with one daughter, Ophelia T. Bolder. She was later united in Holy Matrimony to the late married Charles H. Fair, Jr.
Cornelia was a faithful member of Sidney Park C. M. E Church. During her tenure, she served as an usher and in the Missionary Ministry. She was an avid community member with St. Anna’s Park Community Center for several years, contributing to their neighborhood programs. She was a friend and caregiver for her family and many members of the community. Mrs. Fair was an exceedingly kind and loving person who will be missed by all those whose lives she so lovingly touched.
She was preceded in death by her oldest sister, Emmabelle Williams-Holmes; older brothers, George Taylor Williams, Matthew Green Williams; and baby brother, Dr. James Arthur Williams.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Mrs. Ophelia T. (Clifton, Sr.) Bolder; and grandchildren, Clifton E. Bolder, II and twins Christopher A. Bolder and Crystal M. Bolder; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Williams, and Ophelia S. Williams; a host of nieces and nephews, and a community of friends, all of whom will dearly miss her, but rejoice that she is now resting with the Lord.
