Clyburn Lyles, Jr. Obituary

Clyburn Lyles, Jr. was born on March 29, 1948, in Kershaw County, South Carolina, the eldest son of the late Clyburn, Sr. and Elease "Pearlie" Bennett Lyles. He departed this life on Monday, June 9, 2025, at PRISMA Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

Clyburn, affectionately known to many as "Clyde,” was educated in the public schools of Kershaw County. After high school, Clyde enlisted into the United States Army where he was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Sharpshooter Badel w/ Rifle Bar (M-14). Shortly after serving in the Army, he became a dedicated automotive mechanic for Zeagler's Auto and Roberts Auto until his retirement.

Clyde's love for his family and friends was undeniable and he would go out of his way to do for anyone that needed help.

Clyde loved car racing, playing cards, fishing, and hanging out with his friends. He also loved watching sports. His favorite football team was the Minnesota Vikings.

In addition to his parents, Clyde was also preceded in death by three children, Jeffrey, Eric, and Cynthia; one brother, Paul Lyles.

Clyde will always be remembered by his family and friends to include his loving children, Ira (Jackie) Davis, Carolyn Taylor, Juan Lyles, Clyde Lyles III, Simmie Lyles and LaToya Caldwell; loving and caring sisters, Etta (Sylvester) Bright, Christine (Charles) Robinson, Ronetta (Eddie) Pringle and Patricia Lyles; devoted brother, Raleigh Lyles; fourteen (14) grandchildren, twelve (12) great-grandchildren; special friend, Betty Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and best friends, John Robinson, Ed Jones, and James Miller and family, all of whom will miss him dearly.
