Clarence E. Thompson Obituary

Clarence Edgar Thompson was born May 17, 1958, in Horrell Hill, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late Alonzia Edward and Flossie Lee Davis Thompson. Clarence departed this life to join his heavenly father on Wednesday May 13, 2026, at his residence in Hopkins, South Carolina.

Clarence was educated in the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina.

Clarence was married to his beloved wife,  the former Willene Morris, for thirty-seven (37)years. Their union was filled with love, commitment, and cherished memories.

He accepted his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Siloam Baptist Church.

Clarence was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He was employed at Anchor Continental for over 20 years. He also worked for several years performing road construction, then later retired from Tyson Foods after years of dedicated service.

Clarence loved fishing, spending time with family, and he especially adored his grandchildren. He never met a stranger and loved to talk to anyone he encountered. His loving nature and welcoming smile touched many people throughout his life.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Tresvant Thompson and Ernest Thompson.

Clarence leaves to cherish his loving memory with his devoted wife, Willene M. Thompson; daughter, Chrystal Olivia Thompson; step-son, Carlos (Deborah) Garrick;  grandchildren, Dakota Thompson and Devante’ Green; siblings, Clara Pinckney of Hopkins, SC, Larry (Loraine) Thompson of Columbia, SC,  Lonzo (Louise) Thompson of Eastover, SC, Slyvester Thompson of Hopkins, SC, Ulysees Thompson of Hopkins, SC, Karen (Elijah) Moore of Columbia, SC, Kathy Nathan of Hopkins, SC, and Tyrone Thompson of Hopkins, SC; sisters-in- law, Lottie Wright of Columbia, SC, Annie Garrick of Columbia, SC, Ruth (Wesley) Davis of Hopkins, SC, Doretha (Jerry) Beard of Petersburg, VA, and  Lorine Thompson of Columbia, SC; and brothers -in-law,  Alexander Morris of Virginia, and Ulysees Morris of Columbia, SC; uncle, Walter Thompson, Sr.;  aunt, Anna Davis;  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory and the love they shared.
