Christiline Lewis was born on September 22, 1956, the beloved daughter of Sgt. Edward and Frances Hopkins Posey. She gained her angel wings on Thursday, May 26, 2022, in Columbia, South Carolina.
A discerning woman with exquisite taste, class, and grace, Christiline provided comfort and solace to those around her while asking little in return. “Chris” as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Richland County, graduating from A. C. Flora High School in the class of 1975. She continued her education at Midlands Technical College obtaining an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science. She retired from the State of South Carolina in 2018, then dedicated her time to being of service to those around her.
Chris was a cherished friend who was known for her great advice, creativity, and her loyalty. She believed in autonomy, dignity, and a person’s right to choose the life they wanted. She supported her loved ones in times of sorrow and celebration. She was fiercely independent and private, but her heart was always open to others. Chris had an amazing sense of humor and a beautiful laugh. She was kind, generous and compassionate. Even when she spoke in anger, she was often the first to apologize; adamant about trying to heal what was broken.
Chris was preceded in death by her mother, Frances McLamore; and her grandmother, Agnes Scott.
She is survived by her only loving and devoted daughter, April Lewis of Columbia, SC; her loving and caring sister, Sharren Morgan; her niece Lakeshia Morgan; her nephew, Kenya Morgan, and her chosen sister, Ann Mouzon; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends. Chris will be desperately missed by all those that she’s left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. She was one of a kind, and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
