Chief Apostle Johnnie Clark Obituary

On December 9, 1958, God placed in the earth realm a man child by the name of Johnnie L. Clark, a native of Saint Petersburg, Florida. He is the eldest of 9 siblings. He was raised by his loving grandparents, James and Mother Juanita Turner which are both deceased.

Apostle Clark received his secular education in the Pinellas School System, Eckerd College, Brevard Technical     College, South University and Ashford University On-line. He also received his master’s degree in Christian Counseling and his Doctorate of Christian Education from Overcoming School of Religion.

Apostle Clark was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 15 and went down in the water in Jesus’ Name when he was 22. He preached his initial sermon in October of 1979 and proclaimed the gospel of Jesus Christ for 43 years. In 1988, God moved Apostle Clark to West Palm Beach Florida where he became the founding Pastor of Reach the Unreached Pentecostal Church. In 1994 he relocated to  Melbourne, Florida and founded Rehoboth United Pentecostal Deliverance Church. God revealed Himself in power and demonstration as He placed His seal of approval upon the ministry. In July of 1994, the organization  Rehoboth Assemblies was birthed, and Apostle Clark became the General Overseer. Elevation came again in July of 1996 when he was consecrated as the Presiding Bishop of Rehoboth Assemblies by the hands of Bishop Fellow Lewis, Henderson, North Carolina.

In August of 2000, he founded Rehoboth United Assemblies, Waegner, South Carolina and in January of 2008 he established Rehoboth United Assemblies in North Charleston, South Carolina. On October 30, 2009, God ushered in another dimension for Apostle Clark and the Rehoboth Organization name was officially changed and chartered in the state of South Carolina to Perfecting Saints International Fellowship, Inc. Under the banner of Perfecting Saints, churches are located in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Colorado and one foreign mission in Mexico.

On July 28, 2001, Apostle Clark was affirmed and elevated as the Chief Apostle to continue the work of the Lord by the hands of twelve Apostle's in the Lord's church and he  traveled extensively nationally and throughout the United States, South Korea, Germany, Jamaica, The Bahamas, South Africa, and England.

Apostle Clark was married to the lovely and anointed, the late, Dr. Harriett J. Terry-Clark and together they are the parents of 6 children and fourteen grandchildren as well as the spiritual parents of many sons and daughters whom they personally mentored.

Apostle Johnnie L. Clark loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart, mind, body and soul.  His greatest joy was to serve God’s people.  Under the leadership of Chief Apostle, the Church purchased its new location at 4201 Abingdon Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29203!  To God Be The Glory For The Great Things He Has Done!  His greatest passion was cooking and feeding God’s people. He was one of the best cooks of the soul.

Apostle Johnnie L. Clark was promoted to the Church Triumphant on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at 5:15 in Lexington Medical Center, Columbia, South Carolina. He leaves to cherish his legacy and memory his children; Apostle Sessel Bent, Elder Falisha Johnson, Evangelist Regina and Elder Aaron McKenny, and Elder Alphonso and Evangelist Lynn Terry; several grandchildren, his siblings, Betty Howard, Jackie Howard, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Howard, Lisa and Reginald Grover, Bobby Clark all of Saint Petersburg, Florida; Ricky Clark of Columbia, South Carolina, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as his God Children.  Oh, how he loved his beloved Church, Perfecting Saints International Fellowship, New Greater Rehoboth United Assemblies and the Beth-El Nation.
