Charlie E. English Obituary
SGM (Retired) Charlie E. English, son of the late Mr. Henry and Mrs. Maggie Duncan English, was born on January 27, 1928 in Denmark, SC and entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 2, 2021.
Charlie was drafted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1946 and retired honorably as a SGM (highest rank for non-commissioned office) after 30 years of dedicated service.
He was a member and officer of Greater St. Luke Baptist Church.
Charlie English was married to Betty Jo Vanlue of Columbia, SC from this union, four children were born.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. English
He is survived by his children, three sons, Karl E. (Debra) English of Charlotte, NC, Marvin K English of Jacksonville, FL and Maurice English of Columbia, SC; one daughter, Linda Daniels (Charles) Frazier of Matthews NC; sister, Dosha Kemp of Denmark, SC; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Ed as he was affectionately called was loving and a devoted friend to many. He will be sadly missed by all.
