Charles “Chuck” Balkcom, Jr. was born in Naples, Florida to Georgia Wiggins and Charles Edward Balkcom, Sr. on August 18, 1977. Charles was raised by Lester and Georgia Foster in Columbia, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life on March 13, 2020.
Charles attended the public schools of Richland County School District 1. Charles was employed by various companies using his skills that included landscaping, mechanical, carpentry, and painting. Charles was a mentor and all-around HERO.
Charles was a member of Damascus Church. When you met Charles he would change your life. He always had a smile and always was ready to help. Charles was a huge Steelers fan, loved to fish and loved his kids.
Charles transitioned to his heavenly home to be with his family who preceded him in death including, his father, Charles Edward Balkcom, Sr.; his son, Charles Ja’Mykeal Wright; his aunt, Alean Swan, and uncle, Floyd Tucker.
Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Lester & Georgia Foster; sisters, Eccie (Tereance) Foster, Tina Foster, and Latarsha (Virgil) Johnson; brothers, Lester Foster, III, Lex Potter, and Johnny (Eboney) Johnson; children, Charles Balkcom, III (Marquia), Kyosha Balkcom, Zariyah Balkcom, Charles “Emmanuel” Balkcom, Deonta Patterson, and Cyhiem Patterson; a grandson, Calien Balkcom; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly.
