Chandra D. “Flute” Adger, was born July 26, 1966, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved and cherished daughter of Bettye Adger and the late Alvin Adger, Sr. She entered eternal rest on Friday, December 12, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina.
A graduate of Eau Claire High School (‘83), Chandra dedicated her life to serving others through her work as a nurse, in retail, as a hostess and waiter, and in childcare.
Chandra’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was saved and walked with the Lord daily, keeping Him first in all things. She raised her children to love God and each other, creating an unbreakable bond that will endure forever. Her life was a testament to grace, strength, and unwavering love.
Her greatest passion was her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, cheering for their favorite sports teams, and sharing their adventures through pictures. In a leisure time, Chandra enjoyed word search puzzles, Hallmark movies, and watching golf and tennis, always finding joy in life’s simple pleasures. Chandra was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by faith, love, and devotion to family.
In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Eula Lee Smith Bookman and Willie Bookman Sr.
Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories of Chandra are her loving children, Marquita Frazier and Marquel Amaker; her joy was multiplied through her grandchildren, Marshawn and Markia Fogle, whom she adored deeply; her loving mother, Bettye Adger; loving siblings, Reginald (Wygeania) Adger, Torya (Carl) Bing, and Alvin Adger Jr.; her nieces and nephews, Kamilah Adger, Deonte Adger, Mirikal Adger, Jameelah Roberts, Carl Bing Jr., Tyana Bing (Mason Saint P.), Raquan Adger, Da’quan Adger, Jacques Adger, and Alon Adger; and as well as her uncles, Willie Bookman Jr. and Thomas Bookman; Chandra shared a special bond with her best friends, Channel Frazier and Karen Crosby, who spoke daily and filled life with laughter and love; as well as a host of cousins, other loving relatives and dear friends who will cherish her memory and the joy she brought into their lives.
