Catherine Smith

Ms. Catherine Poole Smith known to many as “sister” was the daughter of the late Freddie W. Poole and Irene Samuel Poole, was born November 8, 1939. She departed life on earth on October 3, 2021. She was the youngest of eleven children.

Catherine was educated at Darlington County Schools, graduating from Mayo High School June 1957. Catherine had various jobs but she loved sewing. She made anything that the store sold, even men’s suits. She loved cooking, traveling and giving a helping hand. Her passion was writing poems.

Catherine accepted the Lord as her savior at an early age. Above all things she loved serving the Lord and serving wherever she could. She loved spending time serving in the church pantry. She loved her family and her church family at Christian Life Church.

Loved ones who shared the joys of life with her and survived to share her moments, two step-sons, Andre and Michael Bruce; one sister-in law, Mary Poole and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends whom will miss her dearly.

Now let the weeping cease, let no one mourn.
