Cary Nathan Johnson was born September 3, 1966, in Richland County, South Carolina. He was the beloved son of the late Lewis William and Carrie Bell Williams Johnson. He departed this life to be with the Lord on Monday, May 9, 2022, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Cary was educated in the public schools of Richland County Public Schools. He retired after many years of dedicated service from Southeastern Concrete Company.
At an early age Cary attended Way of the Cross Holiness Church. He loved cooking on the grill and spending time with his family fishing, and dancing. He was loving, kind and dedicated to his family. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Cary was also preceded in death by his three brothers, Timothy Glenn Johnson, Archie Johnson and Charles Kershaw; and a sister-in-law, Candace Gordon Johnson.
Those who will forever cherish fond and precious memories are his son, Dontrell Johnson and his loving daughter, Iesha Johnson, both of Gaston, SC; one granddaughter; a long-time special and caring friend, Barbara Foster of Columbia, SC; four caring brothers, Lewis William Johnson, Jr., Tony Johnson, Abraham (Trina) Johnson, all of Columbia, SC; and Arthur Johnson of Waterbury, CT; six loving sisters, Virginia Green of Bristol, CT; Celia (Lonnie) Nesbitt, Joan Johns, both of Columbia, SC; Bellamae (John) Uabomoiko of New Britain, CT; Alberta Johnson and Gail Jeffcoat both of Columbia, SC; three stepsons, Brandon, Karlos and Marquel Foster of Columbia, SC; two step daughters, Twanique (Marion) Smith and Precious Foster, both of Columbia, SC; ten step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; one uncle, Willie (Linda) Johnson of Columbia, SC; three loving aunts, Dorothy Morant, Mary (Archie) Washington, both of Columbia, SC; and Gertrude (Herbert) Henley of Swansea, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Josephine Kershaw of Columbia, SC; a host of nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief cause by his departure.
