Carrie Kimble

Without a whisper, sigh, or moan, but quietly and serenely, Carrie Lorraine Jeffcoat Kimble stepped briskly and calmly aboard the Old Ship of Zion on Monday, May 19, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina, at her home in the presence of loving family members.

Carrie Lorraine Jeffcoat Kimble was born in Lexington, South Carolina, on July 13, 1928, to her parents, Dave, and Carrie Bell Jeffcoat, who preceded her in death.

Carrie Lorraine Jeffcoat Kimble received her education in the Public School system of South Carolina. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and went on to higher education from Columbia College of Columbia, South Carolina, where she received her degree in Fashion Design and Retail.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Prince Benjamin Kimble Sr., and their union was blessed with one son, the late Prince Kimble Jr.

Carrie Lorraine was known for her awesome and dedicated work at Capitol City Manufacturing Co., from which she retired.

"Lorraine,” whom family and friends affectionately called her. She was a God-fearing woman who dedicated her life to Christ at an early age.

Lorraine was extremely talented and was blessed with the gift of anointed hands for her custom clothing, and she was one of the best seamstresses. She was a "Political Enthusiast." She loved History and could speak on it all day. Her love for cooking, especially during the holidays, was to share with family, and every Sunday, she would have dinner ready by noon until her health declined. She enjoyed hanging with her family, watching football, and would be yelling Go, Go, Go! Then would turn around and ask who the winner is. She loved her western and mystery shows like "Murder She Wrote". The phenomenal woman she was loved to see the smiles and laughter on the family's faces. She would get out there with family and friends and dance with them all.

Lorraine was a loving and devoted Mother, Aunt, Grand Aunt, Sister, and friend. Her ability to lead with nourishment, a firm hand of compassion, caring, and her loving spirit, lead her to open her heart and home to be a loving and devoted mother and aunt to her niece, Santa Barbara, and nephew James Jeffcoat whom she raised. She touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to have met her.

Those left to mourn her passing and cherish precious memories are her loving nephew, James (Odessa) Jeffcoat, niece, Santa Barbara Dawkins, all from Columbia, South Carolina; a special nephew, Benjamin L. (Laretta) Jeffcoat of Haines City, Florida; four grand nephews, Cleveland, Trey Jeffcoat, Vincent, King Dawkins; two grand nieces, Nicole, Tia Jeffcoat, all of Columbia, South Carolina; seven great grand nieces and nephews, and a host of other living relatives and friends who are saddened by the loss but rejoice that she has been released.
