“God looked around his garden, and saw an empty space. He looked down upon the earth and saw Carrie’s tired face. He put his arms around her and lifted her to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful for he only takes the best.”
On Thursday, September 29, 2020, Carrie Mae Brown departed this life to be with her heavenly father in glory. She was born on October 28, 1963 in Columbia, South Carolina. Carrie was the beloved daughter of the late John William Brown and Leola Rivers Brown.
Carrie attended the public schools of Richland County. She entered the workforce at an early age.
Carrie was a Christian Believer and had long ago accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She was a Godly woman who loved the lord. She was a woman of strong faith and finished her journey strong.
Carrie was a wonderful mother and loved spending time with family, especially her nieces and nephews. She had a kind, caring and loving personality. She was a spirited, fun loving and compassionate person. She loved to cook and it brought her joy to cook for her family and friends. Carrie also loved to watch soap operas and going shopping. One of her favorite shopping places was in her sister Mary’s closet. To know Carrie was to love her.
At the heavenly gates to welcome her home are her parents; two brothers, David Lee Davis and Willie Junior Brown and her sister, Johnnie Mae Brown.
Tender loving memories will forever be cherished by her sons, Tyres Brown of Columbia, SC, Lamont Brown of Eastover, SC and Marvin Harvin; eight grandchildren; sisters, Mary B. Edmond, Betty Brown, Victoria Brown and Patricia A. Brown all of Columbia, SC and Mary A. Gore of Atlanta, GA; brothers, John (Jennifer) Brown and Willie J. Brown both of Columbia, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
We are forever grateful to have had this time with Carrie and her passing will forever leave a void in the hearts of all who loved and knew her.
